Role: Hardware Operations Manager

Reports to: Chief Product Officer, Dave Masom

Compensation: $80-90k base salary + quarterly bonus + stock options

Conserv’s subscription for environmental monitoring is changing the way preservation professionals manage their collection environments. Hardware is core to our mission because without the sensors and gateways powering our platform, we can’t deliver the insights and real-time information our customers need to be successful. The Hardware Operations Manager will be responsible for making sure all aspects of our hardware lifecycle are performing to the high standards our customers expect.


  • Manage Conserv’s relationships with its contract manufacturer(s), third-party logistics, and other hardware vendors
  • Working with the Growth team, maintain an accurate supply and demand forecast
  • Proactively manage our supply chain to ensure an appropriate level of inventory for gateways and sensors at all times
  • Manage the quality control, configuration, RMA and refurbishment processes
  • Working with Product, identify and implement improvements to reduce customer onboarding friction for hardware
  • Working with Support, resolve customer queries and issues in a timely manner
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings regarding hardware
  • Optimize the hardware lifecycle to reduce manual effort and improve consistency


  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or other relevant discipline
  • Prior experience in supply chain management and/or procurement
  • Prior experience in hardware quality control
  • Prior experience with customer support for hardware products
  • Ownership mentality
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and improve processes
  • Familiar with processes around flashing and upgrading hardware devices
  • Great ability to communicate with hardware engineering around root causes of failures and potential remediation
  • Experience with Internet-of-Things (IoT) hardware preferred
